Simon Knox has been at the forefront of thought leadership in strategic marketing for over thirty years. His contribution to the theory and practices of marketing management, in areas such a branding and brand loyalty, CRM and sustainability, is evidenced by the scale of his peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers which now exceeds one hundred and fifty works. This body of work is often cited by other academics and business writers, and is a regular speaker keynote speaker at academic and industry events around the world. Simon was early to recognize that customers buy brands on a portfolio basis (rather than aspire to be brand loyal) and has sought to identify ways in which brand portfolio management, and customer experience management, can be effectively integrated into the corporate brand strategy.
Currently, he is researching into how management investment in sustainability practices can best be framed in building brand identity and corporate brand communications. At the Cranfield School of Management, one of the world’s leading business schools, Simon has helped build the Centre for Strategic Marketing and Sales over the years and has sought to apply research-led thinking to his teaching on the School’s prestigious MBA programme and in his executive education role with senior management. Now, after fourteen years as a professor at Cranfield, Simon Knox has become an Emeritus Professor of Marketing and has broadened his portfolio of activities to provide marketing consultancy, executive teaching, as well as keynote speeches around the world through his consultancy. He is also an active coach to CEOs, CMOs, marketing management and academics in developed and developing economies.
